Presidio Refugee Camps & Alcatraz Fights

After the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake many residents were placed in refugee camps, including in the Presidio and Fort Mason.

"Alcatraz Fights" were organized by the Army Relief Society to provide money for widowers and scholarships to orphans of Army personnel. To learn more about these two subjects, click on the topic links below!

About Us

The Marin Headlands is located in California at the southernmost end of Marin County. With the famous San Francisco within view to the south, the Marin Headlands provides one of the more spectacular views in California.
