The Marin Headlands is a hilly region located just north of San Francisco. It is a beautiful peninsula filled with biodiversity and rich history. The region is famous for its gorgeous views of the Bay Area providing scenic vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge and surrounding landmarks. We have researched some of the more prominent historical events and stories to include in this website. Additionally, we have also looked into some of the lesser known stories that took place in this region. We hope the research presented here will enlighten all on the rich history and beauty of the Marin Headlands.

About Us

The Marin Headlands is located in California at the southernmost end of Marin County. With the famous San Francisco within view to the south, the Marin Headlands provides one of the more spectacular views in California.

The Marin Headlands has a fascinating history that is just waiting to be discovered. From its earliest origins where Native American peoples like the Miwok roamed the land to the 20th century US military installations. There is something for everyone here.
